Study of dendritic cells is often a very complicated issue far beyond simple cells detection. IMSTAR has created tools to separately detect and identify cellular bodies and dendritic extentions to empower characterization of such cellular types. Several parameters may be identified like number of dendrites per cellular body but also length, width and area of each individual dendrite. Cell networks may also be characterized in terms of influence area of each cell and connection index.
