IMSTAR has developed MarkIndex Skin specifically designed for quantification of the expression level and location of numerous markers in the different layers of normal or reconstructed skin. MarkIndex Skin applied analysis module empowers specific detection of these layers, typically stratum corneum, basal layer and whole epidermis. This enables selective object detection in each layer, such as proliferative cells, Langerhans cells or melanocytes. Detection of smaller objects like grains is also possible. Quantification is performed in detected objects for optimal, cell-by-cell information on the expression level of different markers. Using Pathfinder™ analysis tools, any index of marker expression can be obtained. Moreover, simultaneous distributions of the multiple selected markers is produced.
