Transfection via laser photoporation

A flash banner.

IMSTAR has developed a cutting edge tool for accurate cellular transfection of live cells through laser photoporation. A UV-laser is integrated to and fully commanded by the Pathfinder™ system. Thus, laser photoporation is achieved according to Pathfinder™ detection capabilities upon several modes:

  • Single shoot: the cell located at the center of the capture field is photoporated.
  • Grid shoot: laser photoporation occurs upon a X Y grid pattern (µm precision). Positions are chosen by the user and saved for further observation.
  • Search & shoot: cells are automatically detected and photoporated individually.

Using time-lapse capture and analysis features of Pathfinder™ technology, photoporated cells may be re-imaged as a function of time on order to monitor the effect of transfection on multiple phenotypes using multiparametric characterization.
